Welcome to Loona, The world

Girl of the month, stylized as LOOΠΔ, is, or was, a south korean girlgroup formed by 12 members: Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, Yeojin, Vivi, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, Choerry, Yves, Chuu, Gowon and Hyeju. They were active since 2016 until member Chuu got kicked out of the group due to various conflicts regarding their record label in november of 2022.

Ever since then, the members have been fighting a long legal battle against Blockberry Creative for the early termination of their contracts. Hyunjin, Yeojin, Vivi, Gowon and Hyeju signed with CTDENM and formed Loossemble. Heejin, Haseul, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry signed with Modhause and redebuted as Artms, while Chuu and Yves chose to persue a solo career.

Loona started as a unique project in which each month a member would be revealed alongside a solo title track and a b-side. Once the first five members were revealed, the first subunit LOONA 1/3 was formed and dbuted with Love & Live including a repackaged version called Love & Evil. Three members after, Odd Eye Circle was formed by Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry, debuting with the EP Mix & Match. The last four members formed Loona yyxy and released Beauty & the Beat.

Loossemble's TTYL

Loossemble just came out with their latest comeback, TTYL. A fun and girly extended play featuring six tracks with a title track of the same name. With every release the Looble girls seem to be more comfortable each time. Its like instead of finding their lost loona teamates, they found themselves. Each comeback is a self discovery, theyre not afraid to be who they are and theres no Blockberry Creative to hold their atristry back anymore. While fans may be disappointed CTDENM seems to have dropped the 'Loona assemble' concept, im happy Looble girls are happy and having fun being idols now.

ARTMS' Dall

Artms' Devine All Love & Live released on May 31st is an electronic and synth blend with notes of ambient here and there. Its atmospheric, it evokes nostalgia and hope, as well as darkness and dispair. Its such a well thought and cohesive album its sitting right on my top 1 of best post-loona releases. The maximalist tracks hit you like a breath of fresh air, which in this age of kpop where every chorus you can find is dry as a desert, its nice to hear fullness and noise in a song. The songs are so different yet cohesive, they sound like they all belong to the same oeuvre and form part of a story.
